April and will hired me about a year before their July 2010 wedding. We kept in touch over the following months, sharing ideas and watching some of my favorite wedding videos from The Philippines, Canada, and here in the U.S.. JMag, Bob Nicolas, Threelogy, Stillmotion, and many more. Well I guess she liked them too, because about two months before her wedding April asked about a same-day edit ( a very popular service provided by high end providers world-wide). Having never done one, there was some pretty serious concern about pulling it off. But I definitely wasn’t going to pass up the chance.
So I hired two extra people, and managed to eek out a pretty simple but decent enough edit that played at 8:30 that night.
Lucky to work again with the FABULOUS PHOTOGRAPHER
Jessio Cho , everyone had a BLAST all day long.
Sarah and Patrick were married at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph’s in San Jose. The original St. Joesph’s Church, California’s first non-mission parish, was built in 1803. The current church was completed in 1885, and underwent a full restoration 1990.
Given the backdrop of the Cathedral, and the pure and devout message of the song chosen by Sarah and Patrick, I decided to arrange the clips very carefully and in harmony with the lyrics. With such a beautiful bride and scenery like the Cathedral, I felt it was important, as an editor, just to stay “out of the way.” The love this couple has for God and for each other is so powerful, it would do the rest.
Special thanks to
Taruan Woo photography for the wonderful posing of the bridal party.
